
Lead Facilitator, Newham Schools project
Germma Orleans-Thompson is a creative who currently works primarily in theatre. She has directed theatre work at the Almeida, the Kiln and Theatre Royal Stratford East. As a facilitator, Germma has developed and delivered short and long term projects at theatres, schools and cultural venues across the UK including recently for Museum of Colour, Jackson’s Lane Arts Centre, Hackney Museum and Black Books Matter. As a producer of theatre productions and video series, she has worked both individually and with her company Sculptress Theatre, for organisations including Smartify, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the ICA, Bunker Theatre and the Rose Theatre Kingston and has also been the recipient of an Arts Council England ‘Developing Your Creative Practice’ grant for a creative investigation, Impact of British colonisation on arts and culture in the UK.
Germma has worked regularly with PPP since April 2019 when she was appointed to coordinate the People of Letters project, the first phase of the Museum of Colour. She is currently the lead facilitator for PPP’s creative workshop project in Newham Primary schools.
