For the last two weeks People’s Palace Projects and Gary Stewart have been working with 12 young people on the Encounters Digital Media project from the periphery of São Paulo, and tomorrow evening they will be holding a small performance of Declaração to celebrate the first phase of work in São Paulo.

Whilst we know that you might not be able to join us in person, please do have a look at our facebook page: and the blog created by our project assistants: . Please feel free to contribute to the pages; your comments are always valuable to us.

In November PPP will return to São Paulo and work with the same group, building on the work/skills we developed this month in order to create a performance, potentially in the Legislative Assembly in São Paulo.

Encounters is a digital media installation project that People’s Palace Projects have been working on with Associate Artist Gary Stewart; one of the UK’s leading interactive multi-media artists. So far, groups of young people from Rio de Janeiro, London (UK), Salisbury (UK) and Newcastle (UK) have worked with us on Encounters, which aims to create a live visual and interactive installation on how young people transform their cities and their worlds through making art and being artists.

After this performance Poppy, Rachel, Gary and Paul from PPP will fly to Rio to join the Cultural Warriors delegates who will be working alongside AfroReggae.
