The Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro houses Rio’s State opera and ballet ensembles. Built at the beginning of the twentieth century, and designed in an eclectic style, inspired by the Paris Opéra of Charles Garnier, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important theatres in Brazil.
In 2013, PPP and PPPdoBrasil supported a residency by the Royal Ballet at Theatro Municipal, and the opera house has also been a generous partner on the opera design project, Scene Change.
