As part of its ongoing POINTS OF CONTACT programme, PPP hosted a visy Steve Tompkins, one of the world’s leading theatre architects.
In a series of meetings with leading actors, designers, architects and cultural policy makers, Steve exchanged ideas about the transformational role of theatre in the contemporary urban environment. What role can theatre buildings play in the creation of new dialogues across the city of Rio de Janeiro as it undergoes rapid physical, social, and cultural transformation? Steve’s visit set up a series of dialogues that will continue later this year.

Points of Contact is part of the British Council TRANSFORM programme and is co-funded by Arts Council England.
